What to Expect when you participate in a song club session

Song Club is designed to bring people together. All you need is a living room, some strangers, refreshments, and a decent speaker. Your host — the Session DJ — will orient you and kick off introductions by sharing the song they have selected based on the theme and invite everyone else in the group to do the same.

Your DJ will suggest a few things for the group to listen for as the song plays again.
Listen all the way through again.
Then, the floor is yours. People often share memories, feelings, experiences, ideas, and questions related to what they hear and how they understood it.
Round 3
Listen all the way through.
You can dance, stand, sway, sit—whatever you like. Then, we’ll go around the circle and share out our first impressions of the song. Any observation goes!
Listen from the top and pause any time someone says, “Stop.”
Share anything that pops to mind, as it comes up. This part is especially fun!
closing
The DJ will conclude listening session and invite people to reflect, provide feedback, snack, and mingle until the end of the scheduled time.
